Hi i modeled a beam family tha is c shaped so the top horizontal part is flush with the floor slab but the beams are not showing on floor plan views.
Revit beams showing through floor.
And here comes our first problem with revit.
Typical arhictectural floor plan view shows particular level with it s cut plane set approximately 120cm from the level.
In order to enable different view representations make sure that the option show family pre cut in plan views in the structural beam family is unchecked.
In plan view click view menu view properties.
Structural framing beams and braces rft.
Also beams from the level above are shown in floor plans.
Follow these steps in order to get the desired display.
To prevent the floor or slab from being visible in plan view you need to adjust the bottom clip so that it is more than 4 feet above the floor or slab and set the view depth so that it does not include any part of the floor or slab.
Revit beams are also known as structural framing.
I used the the template.
Here we have a cadclip revit tutorial on how to modify a beam family to show above as dashed lines.
What s the easiest way to show our beams without too.
